Collaboration with the British Society for the Surgery of the Hand
OrthOracle and the British Society for the Surgery of the Hand(BSSH) are delighted to announce their new collaboration in orthopaedic education.
From September 2024 the British Society for the Surgery of the Hand will be providing OrthOracle to support senior Hand surgery trainees and junior consultants sitting the BSSH Hand Diploma. The Diploma is in its 18th year and has come to be regarded as the benchmark for British surgeons planning to specialise in the subspeciality.
Each year, 15-20 surgeons from around the U.K. undertake multiple tutorials and coursework pieces in preparation for their Diploma exam. Once these aspects are passed, the surgeon is eligible to sit the final module in the form of a written and oral exam.Successful completion of the exam will allow them to be awarded the BSSH Hand Diploma accredited by the University of Manchester.
Starting this year, all candidates who register to sit the exam will be provided FREE access to Orthoracle for 12 months. There are 125 detailed hand and upper limb techniques on the website, including peripheral nerve, plastic surgical techniques for the upper limb and a vast array of elective and trauma cases that a hand surgeons can expect to encounter.
BSSH is sure that OrthOracles’ detailed operative techniques, full-text papers, 3D anatomy and RCS accredited CPD modules, will significantly support candidates learning and revision for the exam.
