Sam was appointed consultant to the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust in October 2016, with a special interest in shoulder and elbow surgery.
He qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2003 and trained in Orthopaedics in Birmingham on the West Midlands rotation including an in training fellowship at the Hand, Shoulder & Upper Limb Unit at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry. Following this, he completed a Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship with Peter Brownson at the Liverpool Upper Limb Unit.
Sam runs a busy upper limb trauma and elective practice at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and has a specialist interest in complex shoulder and elbow trauma, arthroscopic shoulder and elbow surgery and upper limb arthroplasty.

Mr Mark Crowther was appointed as a consultant in 2005 to the North Bristol NHS trust with a major interest in arthroscopic & open shoulder surgery.

Following fellowship training in Melbourne & Cape Town, he has experience in shoulder instability and other sporting conditions as well as all types of shoulder replacement operations for arthritic conditions.
His particular interests include open and arthroscopic shoulder surgery for conditions including rotator cuff tears, recurrent instability, shoulder arthritis and dislocated AC joints.
Mark has a very strong training pedigree being the Training Programme Director for the registrar higher surgical training rotation for the Severn Deanery of Health Education England South West. Since 2015 he has also been a member of the national selection design group for recruitment of orthopaedic trainees and in early 2017 was appointed to the Specialty Advisory Committee for Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery acting as the liaison member for the Republic of Ireland.

Mr Kalogrianitis was appointed consultant to the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust in February 2009 with a special interest in shoulder and orthopaedic trauma surgery.

Mr Kalogrianitis’s deals with many problems of the shoulder and elbow. This includes all aspects of surgery including rotator cuff disease, instability, sports related injuries, trauma and shoulder and elbow joint replacement.
Minimally-invasive, contemporary, state-of-the-art arthroscopic techniques are used to accelerate the recovery process for challenging conditions such as shoulder instability, rotator cuff disease, frozen shoulder, as well as shoulder and elbow arthritis and stiffness.

Mr Kalogrianitis has a special interest in arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair and arthroscopic shoulder stabilisation techniques including arthroscopic Bankart Repair and arthroscopic Latarjet procedure.

Professor. Martyn Snow is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, which is 1 of only 5 purely Orthopaedic Hospitals in the country. Prof. Snow is a graduate of Edinburgh University and undertook his Registrar training in the Manchester region. He spent 18 months on fellowship in North America, 12 months in Halifax, Nova Scotia undertaking a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Sports Medicine Clinic of Nova Scotia. He subsequently spent 6 months at the Holand Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre in Toronto, gaining further experience in Shoulder and Knee surgery. In 2008 Prof Snow was awarded the British Elbow and Shoulder Society North American travelling fellowship. This enabled him to spend a further 4 weeks visiting some of the worlds foremost shoulder surgeons in major centres such as New York, Los angeles, San Antonio and Houston.

Professor Snow has over 50 publications in various International medical journals, has written 2 book chapters on knee and shoulder injuries and has presented over 70 papers at various national and International meetings. In 2007 he was recognized by the European Trauma Society, and awarded a prize for the best scientific paper published that year.

In 2006 he completed an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University. Prof. Snow has since designed his own fixation device for use in ACL reconstruction, which is currently on sale world wide.

Professor Snow has a honorary chair in Chemical Engineering at The University of Birmingham and a honorary chair in Regenerative Medicine at Aston University. His current research interests include the use of stem cells for cartilage and tendon repair, Bone Marrow Concentrate, Platelet Rich Plasma and bone healing.

Prof. Snow is an invited faculty member on numerous national and international courses, teaching Surgeons the latest techniques in arthroscopic surgery.

Mr Hussain was first appointed as a full time consultant in orthopaedic surgery at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Birmingham and Edgbaston in August 2008. His interests include knee and shoulder surgery as part of the arthroscopy team (key hole surgery).

His undergraduate training was at the London Teaching Hospital Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, qualifying in 1993. He gained his specialist training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery based at the University of Leicester teaching hospitals, Trent training programmme. He went on to achieve dual fellowship training in knee and shoulder surgery.

The management of young osteoarthritic knees is his special interest with procedures such as tibial and femoral osteotomy, articular cartilage repair surgery and unicompartmental knee replacements. The management of sports injuries was a focus of his fellowship training and he performs ACL reconstructions, complex knee multi ligament reconstruction, and arthroscopic meniscal repair. He also gained experience in patella realignment procedures including patelo-femoral ligament reconstructions.

Mr Hussain has performed mini incision total knee replacements as well as complex primary and revision knee arthroplasty surgery.
