The Moberg operation for the Hallux is a way of transferring plantar-flexion of the MTP joint to more functionally useful dorsiflexion.
It is usually combined with a debridement of the MTP joint, open or arthroscopic.
The published evidence for its indications and use are not strong above and beyond a simple MTP joint debridement.
